Final Destination 5 (2011) returns to the series’ familiar premise: death has a list, and anyone who escapes a seemingly unavoidable catastrophe is next in line for increasingly elaborate, Rube Goldberg–style demises. This installment refreshes the formula with a strong opening set piece, tighter pacing, and a self-aware tone that will please franchise fans.
