The film stars Sharon Stone, reprising her role as Catherine Tramell, a novelist and the girlfriend of Detective Nick Curran (played by Michael Douglas in the first film). This time around, Catherine is being investigated by Detective Stan Swanson (played by David Caruso) for a murder.
