The film picks up where the first part left off, with Mahendra Deva, also known as Mahendra, the son of Amarendra Baahubali, trying to claim his rightful place as the king of the Mahishmati kingdom. However, his stepmother, Devasena, and the citizens of the kingdom are not willing to accept him as their ruler.
